Nutrition
The tempeh has only three main ingredients: the grain used, apple cider vinegar, and the culture (Rhizopus spp). We use whole grains like organic soybeans, chickpeas, red quinoa, sunflower seeds, and peas. It contains no additives or preservatives; it’s 100% natural.
Tempeh is a highly nutritious plant-based protein with a high protein content. It’s very rich in fiber, particularly the prebiotic type of fiber that promotes digestive health and reduces inflammation.
It’s cholesterol-free, low in sodium, and contains very low levels of saturated fats and carbohydrates, in addition to being a good source of several essential vitamins and minerals. The long, controlled fermentation process “pre-digests” the grains
, making tempeh very easy to digest. It’s a way to consume legumes without experiencing the digestive issues they may cause.
Our tempeh is naturally gluten-free, meaning it does not contain gluten-containing ingredients. Although we don’t have official certification, we don’t process any gluten-containing ingredients in our plant.
Yes, we offer soy-free varieties of tempeh, made with other legumes, cereals, or pseudocereals. Our mixed tempeh is made with a blend of chickpeas, red quinoa, and sunflower seeds. Our green tempeh is made from pea grains.
